Product Description

F Type Martin Tire Coupling – High Elasticity, 50-8000 N·m, Maintenance-Free

Factory Direct | 45# Steel Hubs | High-Elastic Rubber Tyre Element | 4° Angular & 6mm Parallel Misalignment | Maintenance-Free | Direct Martin/Fenner/Fenaflex Replacement | OEM Customizable

The Apexcoupling F Type Martin Tire Coupling is a high-performance elastomeric coupling designed for reliable power transmission in demanding industrial applications. Featuring a high-elastic rubber tyre element and robust 45# steel hubs, this coupling delivers exceptional shock absorption, vibration damping, and misalignment compensation – all without the need for lubrication.

The F Type designation means the bushing is installed from the inside of the hub, providing a compact design that reduces overhung load on bearings. The tyre element transmits torque while absorbing shock, dampening vibration, and compensating for angular, parallel, and axial misalignment. The simple bolt-on construction allows for quick and easy tyre replacement without axial movement of connected equipment. With torque ratings from 50 to 8000 N·m and operating temperatures from -20°C to +80°C, the F Type coupling is the ideal solution for pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, and heavy industrial drives.

✅ Maintenance-free – no lubrication required. High misalignment capacity: 4° angular, 6mm parallel, 8mm axial. Excellent shock absorption and vibration damping. Easy tyre replacement without moving connected shafts. Direct replacement for Martin, Fenner, and Fenaflex couplings. Fire-resistant & anti-static (FRAS) option available for hazardous environments. 45# steel hubs with corrosion-resistant finish.

Product Structure

  1. Two 45# Steel Hubs – Precision-machined flanges with bolt holes for tyre attachment. Corrosion-resistant finish (black oxide/zinc plating).

  2. High-Elastic Rubber Tyre Element – Reinforced rubber element with fabric reinforcement and embedded bolts for secure connection. Available in natural rubber or chloroprene (Neoprene) compounds.

  3. Bolts & Nuts – Secure the tyre element to the hubs.

  4. Taper Lock or Pilot Bore Mounting – F Type design: bushing installed from inside the hub, reducing overhung load on bearings.

💡 How it works: The F Type tyre coupling consists of two flanged hubs connected by a high-elastic rubber tyre element. Torque is transmitted through the tyre element via friction and bolt connections. The rubber element flexes to accommodate angular, parallel, and axial misalignment while absorbing shock and vibration. The tyre element can be easily replaced without moving the connected shafts. The F Type design means the taper lock bushing installs from inside the hub, providing a compact assembly with reduced bearing loads.

F Type vs H Type – Which One Do You Need?

💡 Both F and H type hubs can be combined with the same tyre element. F Type is the most common configuration for standard industrial applications.

Tyre Compound Selection – Choose the Right Rubber

CompoundTemperature RangeKey PropertiesBest For
Natural Rubber-50°C to +50°CHigh elasticity, excellent shock absorptionGeneral industrial, standard environments
Chloroprene (Neoprene)-15°C to +70°COil-resistant, grease-resistant, improved temperature rangeHarsh environments, oil/grease exposure
FRAS (Fire-Resistant Anti-Static)-20°C to +80°CFire-resistant, self-extinguishing, anti-staticMining, chemical, hazardous environments

✅ Recommendation: Choose Standard Natural Rubber for most general industrial applications. Choose Chloroprene when oil and grease exposure is a concern. Choose FRAS when fire safety and static electricity dissipation are critical.

FAQ

Q: What is an F Type tyre coupling?
A: An F Type tyre coupling (also called a Martin tire coupling or rubber tyre coupling) is a flexible coupling that uses a high-elastic rubber tyre element to transmit torque between two flanged hubs. The F Type designation means the bushing is installed from the inside of the hub.

Q: What is the advantage of the tyre element design?
A: The tyre element provides exceptional shock absorption and vibration damping, protects connected equipment from impact loads, and compensates for angular (4°), parallel (6mm), and axial (8mm) misalignment.

Q: What materials are used?
A: The hubs are made of 45# carbon steel with corrosion-resistant finish. The tyre element is made of high-elastic rubber (natural rubber or chloroprene) with FRAS (fire-resistant anti-static) option available.

Q: Does the coupling require lubrication?
A: No. The F Type tyre coupling is maintenance-free – no lubrication required.

Q: What is the operating temperature range?
A: Natural rubber: -50°C to +50°C. Chloroprene (Neoprene): -15°C to +70°C. FRAS: -20°C to +80°C.

Q: What misalignment can the coupling compensate for?
A: The coupling compensates for angular misalignment up to 4°parallel misalignment up to 6mm, and axial misalignment up to 8mm.

Q: Is the tyre element easy to replace?
A: Yes. The tyre element can be replaced without axial movement of the connected equipment, significantly reducing maintenance downtime.

Q: Is this a direct replacement for Martin/Fenner/Fenaflex couplings?
A: Yes. The F Type tyre coupling is a direct replacement for Martin, Fenner, and Fenaflex tyre couplings – same dimensions, same performance, no design changes required.

Q: What are the common applications?
A: Pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, mining equipment, metallurgical equipment, chemical industry, agricultural machinery, and general industrial drives.

Q: Can I get a custom coupling?
A: Yes. We offer OEM customization – custom bores, keyways, and special rubber compounds available.

Q: What is the warranty?
A: 1 Year – quality assured.
