The Apexcoupling DPG series is a high-performance aluminum jaw spider coupling (also known as a plum coupling or curved jaw coupling) designed for reliable power transmission in demanding industrial applications. Featuring a 98 Shore A polyurethane or Hytrel spider element, this coupling delivers zero backlash operation, excellent vibration damping, and reliable torque transmission. Available in aluminum alloy or S45C steel with clamping hub design, it is the ideal solution for metallurgy, mining, petroleum, chemical, lifting, transportation, light industry, textile, pumps, fans, and other industrial workplaces.

✅ Simple, light, small radial dimensions, low moment of inertia – suitable for middle and high speeds. Torsionally flexible, compensates for angular, radial, and axial shaft offset.

Product Structure

  1. Two Hubs – Precision-machined from aluminum alloy or S45C steel with curved jaws.

  2. 98ShA PU/Hytrel Spider – Red or white elastomer that transmits torque, absorbs shock, and compensates for misalignment.

  3. Clamping Screws – Secure fastening to shafts.

💡 The clamping hub design allows for easy installation and removal without special tools. The curved jaw profile ensures a press-fit with the spider, eliminating backlash and providing smooth, precise torque transmission.

FAQ

Q: What is a jaw spider coupling?
A: A jaw spider coupling (also called a plum coupling or curved jaw coupling) consists of two metal hubs with curved jaws and an elastomeric spider element. The curved jaw profile ensures zero backlash operation.

Q: What does “98ShA” mean?
A: 98ShA refers to the Shore A hardness of the spider. 98 Shore A provides high torsional rigidity while still offering excellent vibration damping and misalignment compensation.

Q: What spider materials are available?
A: We offer imported PU (polyurethane) and Hytrel from Bayer – both premium-quality elastomers with excellent wear resistance, oil resistance, and long service life.

Q: What materials are available for the hubs?
A: We offer aluminum alloy (lightweight, low inertia) and S45C carbon steel (high strength, high hardness).

Q: Does the coupling have backlash?
A: No. The DPG series features zero backlash – no rotational clearance, suitable for positive and negative rotation, frequent starting, and reversing drives.

Q: Is the coupling maintenance-free?
A: Yes. The DPG series requires no lubrication – the PU/Hytrel spider is self-lubricating, reducing operating costs and maintenance schedules.

Q: Can the coupling compensate for misalignment?
A: Yes. The spider compensates for angular, radial, and axial deviations.

Q: What is the clamping hub design?
A: The clamping hub uses clamping screws to secure the coupling to the shaft – providing even clamping force, easy installation, and simple adjustment.

Q: Can I get a custom coupling?
A: Yes. We offer OEM, ODM, and OBM support – custom bores, keyways, spider hardness, materials, and branding available.

Q: What certifications do you have?
A: We are BV, RoHS & ISO9001 certified – quality assured for international buyers.
