The Apexcoupling Z2 / A2 Type Keyless Shaft Locking Assembly (also designated as the AL-S straight-through double-taper expansion sleeve) is an ultra-reliable, friction-based clamping element designed for heavy-duty industrial power transmission systems. Interchangeable with international standard profiles like TLK200, KTR100, and ZJ2, the A2 architecture consists of a split double-taper inner ring, a split double-taper outer ring, and two double-taper clamping pressure rings. As the high-strength inner hexagon socket bolts are tightened, the wedge mechanism generates high radial contact pressure without causing axial movement of the elastic rings relative to the shaft hub.

Compared to single-taper A1 models, the A2 double-taper design generates significantly higher radial pressure for the same bolt tightening force, enabling it to transfer heavier rotational torques and axial loads. Precision-forged from quenched and tempered 45# carbon steel (or optional stainless steel), these expansion sleeves feature 2 to 4 integrated disassembly thread holes along the pressure ring for effortless, non-destructive removal.
