The Apexcoupling ML Series is a high-performance polyurethane plum-shaped elastic pad (also known as a coupling spider insert, elastomeric element, or coupling cushion). This ML Type polyurethane buffer pad is a key mechanical component used to connect two shafts and transmit torque in ML/LM series plum blossom couplings. Its unique plum blossom (quincunx) shape allows it to absorb vibration, compensate for misalignment, and reduce noise, thereby protecting connected equipment. Manufactured from high-strength polyurethane, it offers excellent wear resistance, oil resistance, and long service life. The ML Series is the ideal replacement elastic pad for rolling mills, cranes, forging presses, petroleum equipment, and various heavy machinery.

💡 How it works: The ML Series elastic pad is installed between the two metal hubs of a plum blossom coupling. The pad’s lobes engage with the teeth of the coupling halves. As torque is transmitted, the polyurethane element flexes to absorb vibration, dampen shock, and compensate for angular, radial, and axial misalignment. The elastomer is subjected to radial compression, providing elastic deformation to automatically compensate for relative displacement between shafts. This design significantly extends the service life of the drive system. The pad is maintenance-free and requires no lubrication.
