The Apexcoupling WX/WXD series is a precision small cross universal joint coupling manufactured to the JB/T5901-1991 standard. Available in single joint (WXD) and double joint (WX) configurations, it is designed for reliable power transmission between two shafts on the same plane with an angular misalignment of up to 45° per joint. Constructed from 40Cr alloy steel with optional 304/316 stainless steel, the series delivers high strength, excellent wear resistance, and long service life. Featuring H7 precision bore with keyway, hexagon, or square hole options, the WX/WXD series is the ideal solution for packaging machinery, woodworking equipment, multi-spindle drills, metallurgical machinery, and general automation applications.

Rule of thumb:

  • Use WXD (single joint) for applications with constant angular misalignment where speed fluctuation is acceptable.

  • Use WX (double joint) for applications requiring parallel offset compensation or synchronous rotation between the driving and driven shafts .

💡 For synchronous rotation: When using a double joint (WX), ensure the following three conditions are met: (a) the angles between the intermediate shaft and the driving/driven shafts are equal; (b) the yoke planes at both ends of the intermediate shaft are aligned; and (c) the intermediate shaft and the driving/driven shafts are in the same plane .
