The JQ split clamp coupling features:

  • Two-piece clamp design – Halves are bolted together around the shaft ends

  • Integrated lifting ring – Located in the center section, allows suspension of vertical shafts

  • Keyway standard – Ensures positive torque transmission without slippage

  • Through-bore – Shafts pass completely through the coupling for maximum engagement

This design is specifically suited for vertical applications such as:

  • Connecting long agitator shafts in reactors

Before Installation:

  • Ensure precise shaft alignment – this coupling does NOT compensate for misalignment

  • Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly

  • Verify key and keyway fit

Installation Tips:

  1. Position the coupling halves around both shaft ends

  2. Insert the lifting ring (for vertical applications)

  3. Tighten bolts progressively in a star pattern

  4. For speeds exceeding 5 m/s surface velocity, dynamic balancing is required

  5. To improve balance, install bolts in alternating directions (forward/reverse)
