Product Description
Product Overview
The DFC Aluminum Spider Coupling (also known as jaw or star coupling) is a precision flexible coupling designed for servo motor and lead screw applications. Featuring a high-strength aluminum alloy hub with a German imported polyurethane spider insert, this coupling delivers zero backlash, excellent vibration damping, and reliable torque transmission. The anodized surface finish provides superior corrosion resistance and extended service life.
Key Features
German Imported Polyurethane Insert – High wear resistance, oil resistance, electrical insulation, operating temperature up to 140°C
Zero Backlash – Suitable for forward/reverse operation with no lost motion
High-Strength Aluminum Alloy – Lightweight yet durable, anodized for corrosion protection
H6 Bore Accuracy – Precision fit for high concentricity (higher than H7)
12.9 Grade Screws – High-strength fasteners for secure clamping
Vibration Damping – Elastic spider absorbs shocks and reduces noise
Misalignment Compensation – Accommodates radial, angular, and axial deviations
Split Design – Easy installation and maintenance
3D Chamfered Edges – Safe handling, no sharp corners (for OD ≥ 25 mm)
5-Axis Machining – High concentricity and surface finish

German imported polyurethane standard. Custom materials available.
Design & Operating Principle
The DFC spider coupling consists of:
Two aluminum hubs (clamp style)
One polyurethane spider insert
How it works:
The curved jaws of the aluminum hubs engage with the spider insert. Torque is transmitted through compression of the polyurethane legs, which also absorb misalignment and vibration. The split clamp design allows easy assembly without moving connected equipment.
Key advantages of the spider coupling design:
Zero backlash (with preloaded or precision spider)
Excellent vibration damping
Electrical isolation (polyurethane is insulating)
Maintenance-free (spider can be replaced without removing hubs)
Applications
Servo motor to lead screw connections
Stepper motor drives
CNC machine tools (axis drives)
Robotics and automation
Precision positioning tables
Printing and packaging machinery
Medical equipment
Textile machinery
Semiconductor manufacturing
